In July 2007, the Office of the Federal Coordinator for Meteorology (OFCM) released the report, National Wildland Fire Weather: A Summary of User Needs and Issues (FCM-R33-2007).

The Wildland Fire Weather: Multi-Agency Portfolio of Current and In-development Capabilities to Support User Needs (FCM-R34-2011) is a follow-on report which relates current and in-development capabilities to those user needs.
