National Aviation Weather Program Council (NAW/PC)
The National Aviation Weather Program Council (NAW/PC) will:
- Coordinate and facilitate the development of a National Aviation Weather Strategic Plan which will provide a strategy for ensuring that the National Aviation Weather System will be positioned to cope with increasing demands and changing technologies.
- Coordinate individual agency and multiagency activities to implement the National Aviation Weather System, the goal of which is safe, efficient air travel, free from weather-related risks.
- Facilitate and coordinate policy development, as well as planning and implementation for the following activities: research and development, procedures related to aircraft icing detection, ice protection, forecasting, certification, facility establishment and usage, and equipment acquisition.
